How It Works

What to Expect Before, During, and After the Treatment

Before undergoing microneedling, it’s essential to have a consultation with Fiora’s qualified practitioners to discuss your skin concerns and treatment goals. You may be advised to avoid certain medications and skincare products before the procedure. During the treatment, a numbing cream is topically applied to minimize discomfort. Pain is minimal. The microneedling device is then moved across the skin to create controlled micro-injuries. The procedure usually takes about 30 to 60 minutes, depending on the treatment area.

After the treatment, you can expect some redness and mild swelling, similar to a sunburn, which usually subsides within a 1-3 days. It’s important to follow post-treatment care instructions (which we review in person and send electronically for easy reference) which may include avoiding sun exposure and heat, using gentle skincare products, and keeping the skin clean and hydrated. Most patients notice an improvement in their skin’s texture and tone after one to three sessions, with optimal results typically seen after a series of treatments spaced four to six weeks apart.
